Few golf courses in Florida feature holes with a view of the Atlantic, but sitting atop a barrier island off the Northeast Florida coast, the Omni Amelia Island Plantation is surrounded by the Atlantic and salt marshlands. Three championship golf courses, all part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System boast seven seaside golf holes. The greens and fairways are carefully placed between Spanish moss-covered oak marshes and the wooded interior of the island.
AMELIA LINKS
The Pete Dye and Bobby Weed designed 36-hole configuration is comprised of Ocean Links and Oak Marsh courses.
OCEAN LINKS
Winding along lagoons, dunes and featuring views of the Atlantic, Ocean Links features five seaside golf holes. Narrow fairways and prevailing sea winds provide great views while increasing the difficulty of this par 70, 18-hole oceanfront course.
OAK MARSH
The Pete Dye designed 6,500-yard course meanders around the marsh with water hazards on fourteen holes with water hazards. Oak Marsh winds beneath bulkhead greens, past native plant life and features coquina shell cart paths.
